UMMI's Faculty of Social Sciences Dean Joins Prestigious AIMEP 2024
Rizki Hegia Sampurna, Ph.D., Dean of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi's (UMMI) Faculty of Social Sciences, was chosen for the Australian-Indonesian Muslim Exchange Program (AIMEP) 2024. This achievement showcases FIS UMMI's dedication to international networking and Indonesia-Australia cooperation.
During the program, Dr. Rizki engaged with various stakeholders in Australia, including, Islamic Council of Victoria, GWS Giants, Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Multicultural NSW, Canterbury-Bankstown City Council, Federal Member of Parliament Tim Watts
This experience broadened his perspectives and strengthened Indonesia-Australia collaboration. Participating in AIMEP 2024 brought significant benefits to FSS UMMI, Expanded cross-sectoral collaborations, Enhanced research capacity, Community service
Potential partnerships with institutions like Islamic Sciences and Research Academy (ISRA) and Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation (CISAC) and research grant access from the Indonesia-Australia Institute are now available.
Post-program, Dr. Rizki plans to strengthen collaborations with AIMEP and AAMEP alumni, including Associate Prof. Yasmin from Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, to enhance FIS UMMI students capacity, community service and joint research. This solidifies FSS UMMI's position as an internationally recognized academic and community service hub.
