PTMA FISIP Dean Forum National Working Meeting 2023
On Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The National Seminar on the FISIP PTMA Dean Forum was held at the Kasman Singodimejo Auditorium, Muhammadiyah University Jakarta (UMJ). The seminar entitled "Muhammadiyah in the Middle of the 2024 Political Contest" was attended by 28 FISIP Deans as members of the PTMA FISIP Dean Forum throughout Indonesia.
Acting as a resource person, Mr. Dr. Phil. Ridho Alhamdi, M.A. in which in his presentation he emphasized that Muhammadiyah cadres are not anti-politics "Muhammadiyah will encourage cadres to be involved in politics but not drag Muhammadiyah into practical politics."
Because the association's members have two schools of thought, which are related to Muhammadiyah and Politics, the first is the rationalist-critical school of thought which tends to be displeased when Muhammadiyah is involved in practical politics and places Muhammadiyah as an interest group and moral force, while the other school of thought, namely the pragmatic-substantial school of thought, has an interest in being directly involved in the political sphere.
According to him, in the context of the 2024 election, the PTMA FISIP Dean Forum can become a partner to inflame FISIP academics. "Don't be allergic, but formulate together. We receive input from ladies and gentlemen on practical political issues and ahead of the 2024 election," said Ridho.
Apart from the presentation from Dr. Phil. Ridho Alhamdi, M.A. As for the presentation of the material by the Head of the Dean Forum of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education (Fordek FISIP PTMA), Mr. Prof. Dr. Muslimin Machmud who emphasized that FISIP PTMA played a role ahead of the 2024 elections.
He said elections were important in making substantive changes by transforming democracy into moral, political events and conditions. "This is a great opportunity to encourage potential Muhammadiyah cadres to get involved in politics," he said.
He explained that Muhammadiyah must be able to play its function and is expected to become an intermediary that can connect power with society to build national civilization.
